Dear parents and carers,
We are extremely pleased to be able to publish our latest Ofsted Report.
As you can see, we have been graded GOOD in all areas. This reflects what we already knew about our school. The report has recognised the great work that has been done over recent years by staff, children, parents, the community and governors.
We are particularly pleased with the section in the report 'What it is like to be a pupil at this school'. We feel that this sums up Petersfield School and we are so proud of the children for the way they behaved during the visit and at other times.
It is also a very true reflection of our staff who have worked tirelessly to make the school what it is. They have been outstanding and we could not have received this outcome without their amazing effort. They have even managed to smile through what has been a very challenging time as we have brought about very rapid improvement.
We are also very pleased that Leadership and Management was identified as a particular strength. The Inspector commented that leaders dramatically improve the quality of education, with strong and clear educational justification for all actions taken. He also identified that there is genuine teamwork throughout all the leadership teams.
We are already working on our next steps and our long term goal is to provide an outstanding education for all our children and in many areas we do not have far to go. We need to consolidate improvements, so far, and then move forward at a realistic pace. We will continue to use the newsletter to update you about our school priorities - our exciting curriculum and attendance - and the progress towards achieving them.
Thank you to everyone for their support and enjoy reading the report.
