Our teacher is Miss Whitehead. All teaching assistants will work in all classes throughout the school. However, Mrs Want and Miss Squires are based in Elm.

We have 25 Children in Elm Class.

Our PE days are generally Wednesday and Friday. PE is taught by Miss King.
Please remember to wear your PE kit to school on these days.

Our Commando Joe session is on a Thursday. Please also dress appropriately in sports wear on this day.

Spring Term 2025

Geography
Our first unit is - Would you rather live in a hot or cold place? We will be learning about the 7 continents, locating the North and South Pole and the Equator on a world map. We will learn to recognise the features of hot and cold places and investigate the weather using key vocabulary.

History
Our next unit will be - How was school different in the past? We will learn to correct, order and date photographs on a time line, make comparisons and ask curious questions. We will also use sources to research and develop an understanding of schools 100 years ago.

Feedback to improve our learning

We all have been involved in a dialogue about the high expectations we have of all pupils. Effective feedback involves a dialogue to identify what has been done well and the next steps to learning. Pupils are regularly given verbal feedback about their work and areas to work on. Where appropriate, we use pink highlighting to identify where we are 'Tickled Pink' that the Success Criteria (expectations set out at the start of the lesson) have been achieved. Green highlighting identifies a next step (Green for Growth). Children are also encouraged to self-edit and correct or improve something using their purple polish pen. For more information, please do ask your child, read our policy which can be found at www.petersfield.cambs.sch.uk or speak to us.

This is most likely to be related to letter and number formation or adding in capital letters or full stops.
